Halloween in Whitney, TX

The Halloween afternoon rural families look forward to

For many families in Hill County, Halloween fun usually means a long drive and a stack of ticket prices. The Spooktacular brings it all home. Kids can trick-or-treat safely in one place, ride the little train, paint a pumpkin, and show off their costumes, while parents relax with live music on the grounds.

Admission is free for everyone, because the MBA Foundation believes every family deserves a great Halloween, whatever their budget. The Spooktacular is an annual tradition, and we will post the date of the next one here as soon as it is set.

Tips for families

Make the most of the day

1

Come in costume

Costumes are what make the day, and you need one to enter the contest.

2

Bring a candy bag

Trick-or-treating happens across the grounds, so a sturdy bag or bucket helps.

3

Bring lawn chairs

Set up a home base near the stage and enjoy the music between activities.

4

Dress for the weather

The event is outdoors, so plan costumes that work for a Texas October afternoon.
